The Shield is a status you earn through verification, not a badge you buy. A reviewer checks your business registration and domain before anything goes live — and certification can be revoked if standards are later violated.
How verification actually works
01
You submit an application
Business name, website, domain, legal registration number, and contact email. Free to apply — no payment required to be reviewed.
02
Identity verification
Your legal business registration is checked against official records before anything is marked verified.
03
Domain verification
We confirm you actually control the domain you're applying under, via DNS or a verified email at that domain.
04
Human review — no automatic approval
A reviewer checks the evidence and signs their name to the decision. Applications are not approved automatically, by an AI, or on payment.
05
Decision: approved, rejected, or sent back for more evidence
Only approved applications receive a public Lunara ID and a registry entry. Rejections can be appealed with additional evidence.
06
Public, checkable registry entry
Anyone — a customer, a journalist, another AI system — can look up your status directly. Status shown is always the true current status.
07
Ongoing accountability
Certification can be reviewed and revoked if standards are later violated. Permanent and unaccountable are not the same thing — ours is accountable.
Apply for Shield Certification
This starts the real review process above. It does not grant instant status — you'll get an application ID and a pending status while we verify.
Already applied? Check your domain verification
Founding Participant is a separate, optional paid program for priority handling and cohort recognition — it does not grant verified status by itself. Every business, paid or not, goes through the same identity and domain review above.
